Poem For Teachers And You! Power Of
The Cross 5 ½" X 8 ½"
card A poem, single-spaced between each couplet, 38
couplets, inspired by a true story in a rural, public school in NC. The poem describes how a teacher (me)
inspired a 6-year-old girl to verbally speak for the first time in the public school
environment. The miracle of the story centers around the fact that for over 1
academic year, the child never spoke a "mumbin' word." Not expressing herself verbally, caused
her academic skills to suffer tremendously. The child puzzled her teachers... Printed on a 8 ½" X
11" parchment paper (24lb.), which is folded in half, from top to
bottom, to form a 5 ½" X 8 ½"
card. Card is
placed into a red envelope. Inquire for sample. (Fragment below). “Scared,
frightened?” “Why wouldn’t she speak?” Not
a laugh, not a cry, not even a peep. Each
teacher tried to encourage the lass, But
Ashley remained silent—no words for her class, She
obeyed the teacher, was attentive and listened, Spoke not a word, her eyes just glistened. The
teacher had almost given up hope, Except
for one teacher, that teacher said, “nope.” For
that teacher looked deep through the eyes of her soul, And saw the child’s spirit, tender, not cold… Price:
